Drueke Remotrol MAGNETIC CHESS SET First Made for WWII Soldiers - $30 (North Greenbush)

Here is a really cool old DRUEKE/Remotrol MAGNETIC (now would call "TRAVEL") CHESS SET in convenient original case (with the embossed Mounted Knight On His Stallion on the lid)

These Drueke/Remotrol sets were made for U.S. Soldiers in WWII- first in a (non magnetic) "peg version" AND shortly later with "Magnetic Mini Plastic Chessmen"; They continued to be made through about 1978; I guesstimate this set could be dated anywhere from the mid 40's-to 1978 (when production stopped). Likely these sets were also used during the Vietnam War

Chess Board measures 8” x 8” when unfolded; All pieces are here (Plastic; Red & Ivory)
Playing Pieces & Board in Excellent Condition; the box itself has some storage wear; original instructions not present but I have also included:
