About the house:
It is a large 1890's Victorian, currently undergoing renovation and restoration, so some areas are “rough around the edges” as it’s a work in progress. It has beautiful original details and my partner and I have been working on it for over four years now. It has a large dining room, kitchen, bedroom (mine), half bath and foyer area on the first floor, and a library, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom on the second floor. All rooms are fully furnished with vintage furniture, artwork and other quirky touches. The house is perched on a hill and in the wintertime there is a dramatic view of the valley and the Mohawk river. There is also a big backyard with a fire ring. You will have access to the whole house with the exception of my bedroom and my studio (which is one of the second floor bedrooms) and the library. I have another renter who occupies the other bedroom. However it is a big house so there is plenty of space for everyone! The bedroom for rent is quite spacious and furnished with a large bed, nightstand, dresser, desk and an armoire for hanging clothes and a mini fridge. Please see pictures.
About you:
You are a creative type or at least appreciates quirky and bohemian aesthetics and is open minded, and chill. You must be quiet at night and clean and have a consistent source of income. If you are a smoker that is fine but not in the house, and I prefer no pets but it can depend on the pet. However you are a cat lover as I have three very sweet, friendly cats (1kitten). If you are handy that is a plus too and rent can be negotiated depending what you are willing to help with. Rental references required.
About me:
I am a middle aged female, artist, musician, music and nature lover. My partner and I bought the house together but I am the full time occupant. I am ideally looking for someone longer term.
