The 2014 Gibson Custom Shop 1959 Reissue Mahogany Flying V is a highly sought-after, limited-run guitar. Departing from the traditional Korina wood used in the '58 models, this iteration relies on a solid mahogany body and neck to deliver a warmer, resonant tone.
Wood & Finish: Solid mahogany body and neck with a rosewood fretboard. Common finishes for this limited run include Walnut, Pelham Blue, Classic White, Cherry Red, and TV Yellow, frequently treated with a Vintage Original Spec (VOS) finish.
Electronics: Typically equipped with under-wound Custom Bucker humbuckers for an authentic 1950s PAF tone.
Hardware: All-gold hardware, ABR-1 bridge with a string-through-body setup, and Kluson deluxe tuners.
