Selling an Arts and Craft Mission Style quarter-sawn tiger oak desk at a great price of $275 cash.
Made by the Horrocks Desk Company, Herkimer, NY famous for their excellent furniture craftsmanship (see maker decal).
This vintage desk has the original dark brown tiger oak finish. This medium size antique desk is fully functional.
There are several nicks on the top (both left corners and back right corner), and on the lower right drawer (see pics).
There is wear on the desk top edges and on inside of the front legs. Some drawers have ink stains (see all pics).
The nicks and wear are repairable and add character, are commensurate with the age, and are reflected in the price.
They don’t make them like this anymore! This antique versatile desk is priced to sell (my loss your gain).
Measures: 50” Wide x 34.5” Deep x 30.75” High. This hard-to-find desk size fits smaller spaces.
All 6 drawers open and close easily, have grooved wood handles, and tight dove-tail joints (see pics):
(1) large center drawer with the original pen, pencil, paper clip, and u-need-it tray.
(1) deep file size drawer on the lower right side, and (1) smaller drawer on the upper right side.
(3) smaller size drawers on the left side with the original adjustable wooden dividers.
Has brass caps on all eight desk feet (see pics).
The back and sides of the desk are also finished in quarter-sawn oak (see pics).
Has (2) side pull out / hide-away writing tablets great for extra work surface (see pics).
The sturdy desk is clean, no dirt, no mold, and comes from a smoke and pet free home.
This medium size desk has ample space for office work, crafting, writing your novel, or workshop use.
Would look and function great in your office, mancave, she-shed, lodge, cabin, or Adirondack great room.
You could even up-cycle or repurpose the 1.75” thick top and / or drawer banks into a kitchen island.
Or use the drawer banks as separate end tables or storage pieces (see the last 5 pics for ideas).
You could always resell this sought after vintage solid oak desk and make a profit.
The desk is heavy, so I dismantled it for easy transport into (2) drawer banks, (2) rails with joining pegs and brackets, and the top.
I labeled the screws and brackets with masking tape so it will be easy to reassemble the desk using a flat head screwdriver.
The desk fits into the back of my Subaru Forester.
Will meet buyer at Niskayuna Square (junction of Balltown and Consaul Roads) in the Key Bank Parking Lot located next to Hannaford’s Market to make the cash only transaction. The sale is final, "as is", no return. Thank you.
