Set of mint condition 1820s copper plate engraved geographic maps hand colored and colors still bright, on heavy paper, no tears or folds, covering all parts of the world, including the United States as it was then. Highly detailed and a window into the past. Perfect Christmas gift for historian or geography student. Complete set as published. Total of 22 maps, suitable for framing and trimmed to 12" by 9". Purchased from a collector in 1955 and kept in secure portfolio out of direct light.
These were always priceless to me, but I want to pass them to good hands while I am able.
