1937 MINNEOLA STATE FAIR - Vintage CROSS-STITCH Sampler
We collected a few samplers in our family trunk for decades. This was a favorite. Simple but so fun!
Size: 14”H x 18.5”W
This type of needlework often depicts a variety of motifs and text. Cross-stitch is a form of embroidery where X-shaped stitches are used to create a
pattern.
This piece features a variety of stitched images, including airplanes, a hot dog stand, a tree, a person walking a dog, and a building.
"MINEOLAFAIR" is stitched along the bottom, which is likely a reference to the Mineola Fair, an annual event held in Mineola, New York.
The numbers "19" and "37" are also visible in the top corners, which indicate the year the sampler was created.
Thanks for looking!
