This is simple
Marriage is an institution to insure the orderly procreation & rearing of children & the equitable distribution of tangible
assets upon the demise of the participants.
Previous to the present era where we can find a lawyer under every rock the state got involved to assure a steady
supply of future taxpayers and to prevent dynastic feuds over the distribution of estates.
Most of history seems to revolve around legalistic disputes concerning which child is the "legitimate" heir
to the parents legacy.
If the state elects to change the raison d'etre of marriage from procreation to recreation there is no reason for the
for the state to remain involved at all.
I would be quite content if in lieu instituting a weird recreational definition of marriage NYS were to simply abolish the
institution, annul all existing contracts, expunge the records & let the participants go to their lawyers write their own contracts.
I would appreciate it if when NYS redefines the institution they were to make provisions to care for those that will be left
behind when those of us that can no longer participate leave the institution. - Like most young men I entered into the
institution to put it on the public record that I was a responsible heterosexual. - When it no longer serves that function I can
find no reason to continue participating in a now depraved institution. - My wife & children upheld their end of the bargain &
I do not wish to beggar them but until I can think of a way join with them in a non-depraved I would appreciate it if the
individuals who depraved the institution were to care for them.
