I want to start by saying I am sorry. I put an ad on here with the thought of just getting rid of a female cockatoo. She came from a woman that had her for 14 years and had her in a cage that was to small and with other birds that picked at her and she plucked herself too. I put her on here because I was not getting results as to her trust in people. She loves me the most here she wants to be with me all the time so she is bonding with me but when you try to hand her food or peanuts she will jump and instead of keeping up the fight I was going to give up. I received an email from someone the other day that just told me what I was thinking to begin with and that was send her to yet another home and she will have to start again and she wont trust for even longer. After that woman had her for 14 years she went to another woman who just let her out of her cage and went to work and at the end of the night put her away and then she went to another who did the same but would go in the room the bird was in and read and there was no bonding. She took to me quick to say the least she will cuddle with me for hours and let me know she needs to go back and go potty. I am sorry to all that wrote emails to get her if I didnt answer but have decided I am not going to make her any worse than she is and I am going to work and work and work even harder to get her over this hump in her life. Again sorry to anyone that has written me and I have not answered. But I also dont want to be like other people on here that take an animal and when times get tough just get rid of her. Thanks everyone for your responses and thank you to the one that wrote the email to confirm exactly what I was feeling anyway.
