You are correct and I will not argue. One shelter had five dogs, one had three. All eight of the dogs could be not placed with other dogs and/or cats. I have cats. I also have a dog. I refuse to irresponsibly get a dog from a shelter, bring him or her in to my home, realize that OH, they WERE right that this dog will attack cats and go after my dog's throat...and return it to the shelter AGAIN. I'm hoping that for those eight dogs, eight people who don't have cats or other dogs adopt them and provide them with wonderful, loving homes. My home is not appropriate.

I even asked the staff at all of the shelters about the lack of dogs. They told me that it was because tons of people are adopting right now and I absolutely applaud that. Don't try to twist my words and make it sound like those dogs weren't "cute" enough for me.
