More info
For sale is a 1951 McCormick-Deering W9. As near as I can tell this unit is pretty complete but needs a full restoration. The engine is stuck. I have the cylinders soaking in a mxture of transmission fluid, Marvel's Mystery Oil and DOT 3 brake fluid. One spark plug looks excellent, two others have some corrosion, and the final one has a fair amount of corosion. Although mostly comlete a fair amount of parts will need a fair amont of repair or replacement.
If you are looking for a winter restoration project, here is an option. These units are hard to find in the Northeast as the "Wheatland" versions were more common in the plains states.
I have more pictures that I can send you or make an appointment and come see it. You will notice that three pictures of the pictures are older as there is snow but don't worry, unfortunately, I did not do much betwen then and now. One of the reasons I have decided to part with it despite loving the "W" series.
$750 OBO
If interested, I will be thinning out my collection even more. Others to be listed are, McCormick-Deering OS4 (running), Massey-Harris 30 (running), Farmall H (for parts), and three Oliver 70s for parts or restoration.
