The purpose of this position is to provide project management and oversight for College facilities renovation and construction projects to include contractor oversight, on-site coordination, drawing/specification review, scheduling, estimating, quality control and contract review.  This position may also be responsible for project programming and planning activities on selected projects.
<p>

<li>For certain construction projects, oversee the planning and design process and assist in developing feasibility studies and cost estimates.  Monitor and coordinate work performed by architectural and engineering firms. Review and interpret proposed designs, drawings, and specifications for appropriateness to required function and/or institutional standard and initiate revisions where appropriate.
<li>In conjunction with the AVP for Facilities or his designee, oversee all aspects of the day-to-day management of construction projects. Coordinate the contractor bidding/award/scheduling process, as appropriate. 
<li>Ensure that project operations are in compliance with design drawings and specifications and with College, state, and federal codes, policies and regulations. Inspect for quality of workmanship certifying completion of work for processing contractor invoices.
<li>Ensure that the project progresses on schedule and is completed on time.
<li>Review contracts, purchase orders, and change orders prior to issuance and ensure that project cost remain within budget. 
<li>Provide liaison between the project team and other college academic and administrative departments coordinating and sequencing work to minimize disruption of ongoing institutional operations.
<li>Assist College in establishing construction material and systems standards, including those for aesthetics, operational function, durability and maintainability, and evaluate materials and equipment to be used in renovation and construction projects

- Assemble complex prototype models for testing in flow rigs. <br>

- Maintain and upgrade large experimental systems that may require high pressures, elevated temperatures, and large flows. <br>

- Program and operate data acquisition software including Labview and Labwindows <br>

Requirements: <br>

- Experience in laboratory or research work, including combustion testing and use of liquid and gaseous fuels <br>

- Strong mechanical expertise <br>

- Basic knowledge of flow characterization equipment, thermocouples, pressure transducers, and data acquisition systems <br>
