The First Unitarian Society of Schenectady (FUSS) is looking for a Nursery Attendant to provide childcare during our Sunday services and other events on an as-needed basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide for the emotional, physical and social needs of young children during the time they are in the church nursery.
• Interact with the children and encourage their involvement in activities.
• Prepare and maintain a warm, safe environment that is orderly, clean and appealing.
• Establish and maintain good communication with the parents.
• Utilize parent volunteers to assist with duties.
• Read, understand and follow nursery policies.
• Be on site in the nursery for the entire scheduled time.
• Clean up nursery after shift.
HOURS: 10:00 AM to 12:15 PM on Sundays (September – June)
PAY: $12.50 / hour
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School graduate with 2+ years experience babysitting and caring for children
• American Red Cross Babysitting, CPR or equivalent First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain the training
• Ability to work with children and their parents with maturity in judgment
